Admissions criteria

Be 18+ years old

No candidates under legal age will be considered.

Hold an university degree* in any discipline

Candidates without a university degree may still be considered if they hold a high school diploma, and can demonstrate a >5 years of professional experience.

Minimum 3 years of professional experience

Ideally within the sports industry or in a related field (analytics, business, law, coaching, performance, etc.).

English proficiency at C1 level or equivalent

Dr. Gerard Akindes

Dr. Gerard Akindes brings an invaluable blend of high-level athletic experience and deep academic scholarship to ASE Athletics. A former international football player for the Benin national team, Dr. Akindes has dedicated his academic career to analyzing and restructuring sports governance and development models across the African continent.

  • Academic Leadership: Co-editor and contributor to definitive texts on continental sports economics, including Africa’s Elite Football: Structure, Politics to Place and Identity and Nation in African Football.
